These are two very broad writing concepts that I believe will lead naturally to more control over the length of your writings and a much easier writing experience in general. You've probably done this experiment in an elementary science class -- if you fill a vessel, say a bucket or a large pitcher, halfway up with sand and then pile large gravel on top of the sand and then large rocks on top of the gravel, you will run out of space quickly.
Before I really get into the "meat", as it were, of what I want to teach you here, let me first pause to describe the method I've chosen for conveying the overall concept that I've chosen to convey to you.
