The Doctoral Student Consortium (Advanced) is to help those students who have completed their coursework and comprehensive examination, are working on their dissertation and anticipate entering the job market in the next year to develop and effective career plan based on their personal and professional goals.
The consortium has three primary objectives: The program includes six faculty panels, three for the Senior Doctoral Students and three for the Mid-Stage Doctoral Students track.

8 am Breakfast and discussion with faculty (tables of 7 – five students and the two faculty allocated to that group) 8.30 am Individual presentations of around 25 minutes Each student will have 10 minutes to present an overview of his/her research. Every participant should generate questions or comments for each presenter and write them down in a paper that will be given to the presenter. The student presentation should cover: – an overview of the research – an outline of any problems anticipated in completing the dissertation – publication plans (where, when) – planning the last year in the doctoral program – completion of the dissertation – finding a job – career goals and expectations 11 am Panel Discussions – Topics and presenters are tentative.
